DO NOT LET GOP TOUCH MEDICARE, MEDICAID, and SOCIAL SECURITY
It feels like no one is talking about the long term consequences of cutting back or totally eliminating these "entitlements" to give tax breaks to ultra wealthy people.
67 million people pay $185 per month to have Medicare (whether they pay with their Social Security, their own funds, or Medicaid pays) that's $12,395,000,000 ($12.395 Billion) per month that goes into the nation's healthcare system. Way more than all of the wealthiest Americans can pay in their lifetimes, no less per month.
How many hospitals will go out of business without Medicare and Medicaid paying for care? Without Social Security, if a patient goes to the hospital and has no Medicare or Medicaid, they will NOT PAY the bill. Millions and millions of dollars will not go to the Hospitals, and they will have to go out of business.
Without Medicare and Medicaid paying monthly fees to Doctors for being the primary care physician and paying for regular visits, Doctors will be shutting down their offices if they have to depend on cash only patients (who again can't afford a regular visit without health insurance and no Social Security income).
Without Medicare and Medicaid paying insurance companies to administer the managed care, Insurance companies will go out of business if they have to depend on just those who can afford thousands of dollars a month on insurance premiums. Insurance companies will shut down.
On top of that, this will devastate the health care system so much, Congress will likely vote to disband the Affordable Care Act. That's another 22.8 million people who will not be paying premiums to insurance companies, pharmacies, hospitals, and doctors.
We will not just be in a health care crisis. All of those wealthy Big Pharma, Insurance, Hospital CEOs who give big donations won't be making $20million+ anymore and won't have the money to give to campaigns. Oops, now GOP will be directly impacted too.
It's not a slow slope to American poverty if Congress eliminates Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, it is an Avalanche Rock Slide to the end of many political careers and life as we all know it.
