Let’s keep this short and sweet….
Democrats lacking the nerve to stand up for their principles and caving on cloture due to “politics” is no different than Republicans who caved to Trump.
Democrats are now bending the knee.
Eighteen months from the next election, and Democrats are already displaying that they are willing to sacrifice their convictions if they believe it improves their re-election chances. I’m in disbelief. Why vote and send people to Washington who prioritize their self-preservation over their convictions?
But, you might say, what if this means more Republicans are elected? My answer: What difference does it make when Democrats are just going to capitulate.
Most importantly, what signal will this send to Trump and Musk? Two months into the new administration and in the first big fight, Democrats are surrendering before the battle has even begun. I’ve never been more disgusted.
Trump is a bully. Cave in to a bully, and you’ll just get bullied more. (Correction: Democratic politicians cave to the bully, but it’s the rest of us that pay the price.)
