We Regret to Inform You That Segregation Is Now Symbolic
Please remain calm.
The clause prohibiting segregated facilities has been removed. But don't worry—it doesn’t mean you’ll be segregated. Just that we’ve stopped saying you won’t be.
This is merely a symbolic change. Like removing the fire alarm because technically, the fire is still illegal.
You are still protected by laws that we are no longer required to mention. These protections remain in place in theory, though not in paperwork, policy, or practice.
This does not legalize discrimination. It merely removes the bureaucratic inconvenience of saying it’s wrong.
We are streamlining fairness. Simplifying equality. Deregulating decency.
If you feel concerned, please remember: only people who plan to segregate need to worry about this. If you're not racist, you’ll barely notice the change—except for how much quieter things will get, now that dissent is no longer required in the contract.
After all, the railroads still ran on time when the signs came down.
The forms were filed.
The language was tidy.
The paperwork did not scream.
The camps did not begin with camps.
Please proceed as normal.
Please sign here.
