Rosie O'Donnell Questions "Why Donald Trump Won Every Swing State
Rosie O’Donnell is questioning how Donald Trump won every swing state in the 2024 presidential election considering his biggest supporter.
During an interview with RTÉ One’s “The Late Late Show,” O’Donnell said she questions “why” Trump “won every single swing state” during his reelection campaign considering one of his “best friends” and “biggest donors” was “a man who owns and runs the internet.” While never mentioned by name, O’Donnell is most likely referring to X owner Elon Musk.
“I would hope that would be investigated and that we would see whether or not it was an anomaly or something else that happened on election night in America when Kamala Harris was filling up stadiums with people who supported her and Donald Trump was not able to do that,” O’Donnell said. “So it’s curious to me, and as an American and a believer in democracy, I would hope that we would be able to look at all of the reasons why this happened in our country.”
What can we do about it in future elections? The Trump administration is disbanding federal agencies that help protect our elections.
Dismantling of federal efforts to monitor election interference creates opening for foreign meddling
The Trump administration’s downsizing and disbanding of federal agencies has hit efforts that improve election security and monitor foreign influence. That could create gaps for America’s enemies to exploit the next time the country holds a major election.
“Our adversaries are upping their game every day,” said former Department of Homeland Security cyber chief Suzanne Spaulding. “I’m worried that we are, at the same time, tearing down our defenses.”
The enthusiasm at AOC and Saunders' rallies is undeniable, sparking conversations about the lack of excitement for Harris when she ran. On platforms like X and Bluesky, many are questioning whether AOC should run for President and expressing that while the country is ready for a female President, Harris wasn’t the right candidate. Who would have been the “right candidate”? It shouldn’t have mattered. They were running against Trump. It should have been a landslide election. The Harris-Waltz campaign ran on a popular platform.
Trump’s message to his voters was clear: "I don’t like you, I only need you to vote once." He even told Christians that if they voted for him in November, they "wouldn’t have to vote again." At a campaign event, he promised, "In four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not gonna have to vote."
Trump told his voters they didn’t have to vote. He had plenty of votes.
Trump urging voters not to vote.
Trump’s message was preceded by talking about how his campaign had lawyers at “every poll booth,” suggesting that he thinks that he can legally get the election outcome he wants. He said something similar in October, too, when he told supporters at a New Hampshire rally, “You don’t have to vote, don’t worry about voting. The voting—we got plenty of votes.”
The Trump administration isn’t worried about losing the next elections. They will do everything in their power to cheat.
Yet, while Republicans manipulate the system and suppress votes, Democrats seem to forget key lessons from the past.
Stacy Abrahams has been sounding the alarm on this for a long time. She warned us that they were throwing people off voter rolls and use other vote suppression tactics.
It would be a fatal mistake not to investigate how the Republicans are planning to win in the 2026 midterms. We have watched the Republican Party sellout their own constituents without fear. Their answer to angry voters is to not hold town halls.
Meanwhile, billionaires like Elon Musk took election interference to new levels. Musk launched a cash giveaway in key swing states, offered registered voters a chance to win $1 million a day—but only if they had signed a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments.
Imagine the outrage if a Billionaire donor to the Harris campaign did this.
Georgia
Some voters are making the same mistake again and are blaming Harris. Suggesting that we are ready for a female candidate just not Harris or Clinton. It’s the establishment Democrats fault. That AOC is the right person. How quickly we forget about the crowds and enthusiasm there was for Harris.
How quickly we forget she had a popular platform. She won many elections. Her crowd size dwarfed Trumps.
Harris Rally Houston
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris calls Republican candidate Donald Trump ‘unstable’ and ‘out for unchecked power’ during a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, launching the final weekend of her campaign.
O’Donnell is asking the right question—the one that needs to be addressed. I’m not saying the last election wasn’t fair and free, but it’s time we prepare for the future.
Republicans, foreign countries, and billionaires are heavily invested in shaping the outcomes they want. Instead of simply accepting defeat as our fault, we need to examine the factors that contributed to our losses.
-
How many voters were denied the chance to vote?
-
How many were removed from the rolls?
-
Were there irregularities that warrant a recount?
-
Is our election system truly secure and fair?
These are the questions we should be asking—and answering—before the next election.
The real question isn’t just about who has momentum in rallies—it’s whether Democrats will fight as hard to protect the vote as Republicans do to suppress it.
