If you haven’t read the actual transcript of the frat boy banter between our national leaders in SignalGate..here it is
www.nytimes.com/….
Much has been written already concerning just how dangerous, horrific, pathetic, and illegal this breach of security is..I have yet to read about another problem which may be the worst. Read carefully the texts of VP Vance, Sec. Hegseth and Stephen Miller, especially my bolding.
VP Vance: “Team, I am out for the day doing an economic event in Michigan. But I think we are making a mistake. 3 percent of US trade runs through the suez. 40 percent of European trade does. There is a real risk that the public doesn’t understand this or why it’s necessary. The strongest reason to do this is, as POTUS said, to send a message.
I am not sure the president is aware how inconsistent this is with his message on Europe right now. There’s a further risk that we see a moderate to severe spike in oil prices.
I am willing to support the consensus of the team and keep these concerns to myself. But there is a strong argument for delaying this a month, doing the messaging work on why this matters, seeing where the economy is, etc.”
Sec. Hegseth: “We are prepared to execute, and if I had final go or no go vote, I believe we should.”
VP Vance: “@Pete Hegseth if you think we should do it let’s go. Let’s just make sure our messaging is tight here. And if there are things we can do upfront to minimize risk to Saudi oil facilities we should do it.”
Stephen Miller: “As I heard it, the president was clear: green light, but we soon make clear to Egypt and Europe what we expect in return. We also need to figure out how to enforce such a requirement. EG, if Europe doesn’t renumerate, then what? If the US successfully restores freedom of navigation at great cost there needs to be some further economic gain extracted in return.”
The CIA, Gabbard, Walz were all leaning towards waiting while the VP, Sec. and Miller made the decision to strike.
Clearly, there was a disagreement among our highest command and leaders concerning whether the Commander In Chief of the greatest fighting force in the world had even authorized military force. In fact, it looks like VP Vance functioned as the Commander In Chief who authorized the US strike. Lastly, it appears the entirety of the geopolitical and economic issues of the world were discussed in a matter of a couple sentences here..beginning with the VP making these decisions while “I’m out for the day doing an economic event in MI.”
Knowing Trump’s chaotic decision-making even when he was sane, the US is now making military strikes authorized by a couple frat boys that sound like they are talking about their golf game, except for the one bragging about all his big, bad jets instead of the blonde at the bar last night. Who isn’t surprised Musk wasn’t on the thread also at this point.
Whoever is running the country, it sure as hell ain’t Trump.
