As the Signalgate scandal goes from bad to worse, some might wonder why Pete Hegseth is showing such anger at those who disclosed his data breach.
Few people have been bold enough to ask him if he was drunk when he shared the details of an upcoming attack on Yemen. Ultimately it doesn’t matter.
Was he (a) actually drunk, (b) so burned out from years of excess drinking or ( c) never had the brain cells in the first place to lead the American military ?
A competent military officer can learn from his mistakes. Hegseth can only lash out in anger.
While the Signalgate scandal was peaking we saw another screw up by Hegseth. Four American soldiers were reported missing near the Soviet border. At this time, their circumstance is unknown. They may have driven into a pond, but there is no official word.
According to Trump, Hegseth did not report this circumstance to the President. Reporting up the chain of command is a very basic part of the job. Unfortunately, Hegseth’s entire skill set seems to be playing the role of an angry talking head.
Hegseth does actually compare favorably to Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, who is not able to learn what country she is in.
Angry denials are eating up the credibility of the Trump administration. When the orange one realizes this, we will see action.
