A new NBC poll show that 36% of registered voters identified themselves as MAGA supporters. 71% of Republicans.
This is up from 23% in 2023 and 27% in 2024. The increase is mostly due to more Republicans joining the bandwagon.
Trump was exceedingly happy about this and had to let us know.
It happens as Trump is convinced he's always right and that he has a "mandate."
"I am not at all surprised!!!"
Well, I am. But here's the thing. The poll was taken in March. Trump started his assault on the economy with tariffs on April 2nd, so it's completely out of date. It was 1,000 people by phone with a 3.1% margin of error.
This is really non-news as a result. A poll, say on April 10th, would be more indicative of current feelings about Trump. And about all the other lawless actions if his administration. All we need are some MAGA accidentally sent to El Salvador and the world turns.
So, Trump can say anything he wants about a "too old to mean anything" poll, he's living in a dream world, but won't admit it. What is scary is the state of Republicans identifying as MAGA going from 40% to 71% in 14 months. Again, this was before their 401k's dropped by a massive amount. Nobody is going to say Trump is in his right mind if their retirement benefits have dropped so much they have to go back to work. So, ignore Trump this time. He's just trying to grab glory that's already gone.
Donald also had to do an all caps rant about the border crossings.
Probably, Donald is making it up again. All time low goes back how far? 10 years? Not a surprise. Not with all the resources and personnel being deployed at the border with the military and National Guard he has authorized with his national emergency. Congress better start stopping the use of these declared national emergencies before he declares one to invalidate their elections and call for new ones to fill their positions. Far-fetched? Not anymore.
Trump's funny post was for the visit by the Ohio State Buckeyes. The whole episode of Vance breaking the trophy is completely edited out.
Then Trump got deadly serious again with a new threat against Harvard where it could really hurt. Tax exempt status.
"Taxed as Political Entity..."
Trump now controls the IRS. Could anyone believe a college is a political entity? Belief no longer has anything to do with it.

Donald is the sick puppy here. "... terrorist/supporting..." So if they're not terrorists, they're supporting terrorists. This is all because students have the right to be pro-Palestinian to decry the killing in Gaza. This has nothing to do with aligning with Hamas. They should be proud of their "sickness."
Here's the real threat. "Remember, Tax Exempt Status is totally contingent on acting in the PUBLIC INTEREST!"
Just like the FCC control of broadcast licenses, the "PUBLIC INTEREST" is whatever you want it to mean. Could the IRS be strongarmed by Trump to take away their tax exempt status on the public interest basis? Sure. There would even be a section of the public that would agree with him. But not a majority.
This one more tool in Trump's attack on higher education to become an indoctrinating tool, just like he is working on and succeeding with, so far with public education.
The press should rip this threat apart. They already are about the grants and contracts to universities being canceled. It's another Trump tactic to see how far he can push things. It's like, stop him before he kills again.
Another day. Another Donald. Money is his new weapon.
