My great Senator, Chris Van Hollen, is going to El Savador tomorrow to try to help Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Mr Garcia was illegally kidnapped by ICE and dumped in a horrendous, concentration-camp-like Salvadoran prison. The Supreme Court voted 9-0 that trump should “facilitate” his return. (and yes, Roberts waffled a bit, but it was still quite clear).
The Federal District Judge, Paula Xinis, had ordered the trump administration to return Garcia to the US and trump et al are doing everything they can to violate her order.

Mr. Abrego Garcia was illegally abducted by the Trump Admin and, by their own admission, wrongly deported to El Salvador. He shouldn’t have to spend another second away from his family.
I'm flying to El Salvador tomorrow morning to check on his condition and discuss his return.

I’m hoping he is actually able to bring Mr Garcia back to our state. I don’t know if it’s possible but read something (can’t find it) that says that the contract the US has with Bukele has a statement that makes it clear that the US is in charge of the “disposition” of the kidnap victims we dump there.
NOTE: I should point out that Sen Van Hollen didn’t claim he’s bringing Garcia back — but that he wants to meet with Salvadoran officials to negotiate with them and go to the prison to check on Garcia. I’m hoping he’ll be able to bring him back.
