Back in November of 2024, things were looking pretty bleak for Canada. For almost a year, the Conservative Party of Canada, led by Trump mini-me Pierre Polievre, were way ahead in the polls. A massive majority Conservative government was on the horizon. Canada faced four years of attacks on Medicare, austerity, anti-woke lunacy, tax cuts for the rich, and cutbacks for everyone else.
But then some something strange happened. A thought entered Trump’s brain, a weird, stupid, maniacal thought. And it wouldn’t leave. So Trump did the thing he always does when these bizarre ideas take over his brain. He went with it and announced he was going to annex Canada.
And suddenly everything changed. Canadians realized the last thing they need, with the president of the most powerful country in the world threatening tariffs and annexation, was to elect a carbon copy of the guy doing all the threatening.
The almost certain Conservative majority vanished and suddenly the Liberals, with a new leader, were ahead.
Tonight, Canadians went to the polls and voted to return the Liberal Party to power, something unthinkable only six months ago.
And all because Donald Trump suddenly decided, against all logic, decency and common sense, to announce he was going to annex Canada.
So as a Canadian I can only say, thanks Donald.
