When asked what he and the Democrats were doing to keep Trump from bringing law firms, universities and other crucial institutions to their knees, Schumer insisted he had a solution to Trump’s authoritarian move against Harvard:
“So, we sent him a very strong letter just the other day, asking eight very strong questions.”
What? Were you expecting more? I refer you to the first word of the diary title. Is it any wonder there are calls for him to step down. A strong letter? AYFKM? The reactions were predictable:
“I cannot believe this isn’t a joke,“ contributing writer to The Onion Alex Furlin posted on X. ”Chuck Schumer hates you and he hates me and he hates democracy. A strongly worded letter. Unreal."
“Imagine having this man be your standard bearer,” writer for The Nation Jeet Heer posted on X, sharing the exchange between Bash and Schumer about the letter.
Sam Seder, host of “The Majority Report” and political commentator, replied to Heer, “I am currently drafting a strong letter, strongly and urgently asking Schumer to resign. Watch this space to see how it goes.”
Is it any wonder people have such a low opinion of Democrats? This is not leadership. When asked what he was doing about Trump, Chris Coons talked about sitting on the steps with Hakeem Jeffries and Cory Booker for some under publicized sit in that accomplished nothing. The party needs a coordinated strategy. Trump won because he was able to put the blame for inflation on Biden. Biden is gone, prices aren’t going down, and people are still angry. Bernie and AOC have identified the enemy. People are finally listening. It’s time for the rest of the Democrats to join them. Even Trump bootlicker Jeff Bezos is talking about displaying the cost of tariffs on all the items Amazon sells. While just today 14 Democrats voted to advance the nomination of Trump’s election denying ambassador to China. This is not how you fight. Give him nothing.
