Remember yesterday when it looked like Putin might go along with a ceasefire?
Yeah, that was yesterday. Today it looks like there will be no ceasefire.
But stay tuned because tomorrow — who knows.
The latest is that after a meeting in Kyiv with the leaders of the UK, France, Germany and Poland, Ukraine has agreed to a proposed 30-day ceasefire starting May 12. But Russia, after yesterday sounding like they were ready to accept a ceasefire, is crawfishing* while telling the West to shove it up their asses.
*NOTE: Crawfishing means backing up in a defensive position.
x
Zelensky officially confirmed: from May 12, Ukraine agrees to a 30-day ceasefire as part of an international initiative worked on by the US, Europe, and Kyiv.
UK PM Keir Starmer stated that if Putin rejects the pause, the West will ramp up support alongside Donald Trump.

I guess there will be no further ceasefire.

Russian bloggers say the goal of proposing a ceasefire that Putin won’t accept is to make Russia look bad and trigger new sanctions.
Then another question arises: the ultimatum form in which Zelensky voiced his demand to Moscow does not at all resemble a peacekeeping initiative. Its goal is rather the opposite - Vladimir Putin refuses a 30-day truce and looks bad in the eyes of the Americans.
Ukraine didn’t attack Moscow during the Victory Day parade but Russia might launch a ballistic missile at Kyiv.

Someone left the damn door open again.

Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian equipment parking site, likely in the Kursk direction. Units of the 225th Assault Brigade spotted a T-72 tank via aerial recon, tracked it to the site, and demilitarized it. The lot included a T-72, BMD-2, and logistics vehicles.

It’d be a shame if a careless smoker showed up for work here one day, assuming Russia ever finishes this project.

One of the big directions for drone development is the use of drone carriers to launch drones and extend their range.

Gosh. Why would Russian soldiers want to desert? Don’t they want to fertilize a Ukrainian field?

"Military police on every corner":pro-war Russian blogger Montyan speaks about mass desertions from the Russian army.
She claimed that the Russian military is currently facing a massive wave of soldiers going AWOL, that military police are sweeping intersections en masse in search of deserters.

1/ An ongoing crisis at Russian Railways is deepening, with a 50% cut on payments to employees and such a severe shortage of personnel that some divisions of the company are down to 40% of their intended staff numbers. Despite this, it has imposed a ban on hiring. ⬇️

2/ The state-owned railway monopoly has been facing a worsening staffing and financial crisis, brought on by a combination of a lack of spare parts caused by sanctions, economic problems and staff leaving for much better-paid jobs in the army or factories.
3/ The VChK-OGPU Telegram channel reports that the company is trying to fix the hole in its finances by drastically cutting expenses on employee costs and banning hiring new people. Bonuses have been cancelled, leading to a large reduction in salaries.
4/ Russian Railways' salaries are already low, at around 70,000 rubles ($837) a month, and uncompetitive with military or factory jobs. The cancellation of quarterly bonuses is equivalent to a 30 to 50% pay cut, a loss equivalent to 50-100,000 rubles (up to $1,195).
