I am making this claim because I watched the whole unedited clip from the White House account on YouTube, labeled as "President Trump Signs Executive Orders - May 9," and all he did was sign House Joint Resolutions. The four of them are listed below.
May 9th "Executive Order" signing, White House YouTube channel.
Trump signed rescissions of Biden's orders. Trump describes them as "redos from the horrible mistakes that Biden made... from the standpoint of lifestyle, they're very important." And then he turned it over to others standing around him to explain them, because he couldn't.
HJR 20 on gas water heaters energy standards.
Trump is about as low energy as he can be. He had much more energy this morning on his Truth Social posts.
HJR 24 On walk in coolers and refrigerators.
HJR 43 Energy efficiency in household appliances. Oh yeah, this really helps fight inflation when all the refrigerators, clothes washers, dishwashers, you name it, are made overseas they're getting hit with tariffs. Making them energy efficient it's just a process of making them better.
HJR 75 Energy efficiency in refrigerator freezers, refrigerators.
Trump asked about sinks and showerheads. He was told there was one coming later in the afternoon. Doesn't anybody remember he already took care of the shower heads in an EO? Well, there is an EO up now called Rescission of Useless Water Pressure Standard.
"You buy a new home and you get a new shower head and you don't get any water and the water comes out of the sing...what a shame, what a ridiculous waste..." He was going to say sink, but it came out "sing."
There are new executive orders online, but he didn't sign them in this session. It was just about stupid rescinds of energy efficiency regulations. After he finished signing the four HJR's, he took some questions, starting with tariffs on China and a deal.
"We already made a great deal. We got a great deal. We're not doing business with China right now. We lost one trillion dollars with China last year. So if you're not going to do business with them, you're not going to lose 1 trillion dollars. I want China to do great. I'm very friendly with President Xi, I've got great respect for him and China. But, we can't allow them to do what they did. When I was President they paid hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs. And then Biden screwed it all up. What he did to this country between the border and between all of the other problems the wars, everything. What he did to this country should never be forgotten. One of the things he did was to trade so bad, so unbalanced. I think we're going to come back with a fair deal and, uh..."
Not doing business with China at all somehow saves money. What a mixed up brain. We're saving a trillion dollars by making everything in the United States cost more that comes from China. Right. And, of course, it's all Biden's fault. When is it ever going to become Trump's fault?
Then he was asked about the attacks on Kyiv and what he would say to Putin and he just came up with his stump speech of get the war ended and 5,000 people a week dying.
There are 8 new executive orders showing up on Whitehouse.gov now, and none of them were signed in the public ceremony, just the four useless HJR's.
I wouldn't be making such a fuss about this except every news report and every clip calls this signing of the HJR's as being signing executive orders. It seems that nearly every, if not every, executive order has been signed on camera. Why he would pass up this opportunity with the ones that were signed, I have no idea. They were ones near and dear to his heart. "Establishing Homecoming Project" is about getting immigrants to self deport. "Fighting Overcriminalization in Regulations," was right on target with getting rid of federal regulations. But, he talked about the one on water pressure, and was told he was going to get that later in the day. That one is now up on the website.
So, unless Trump puts up a Truth Social video of him signing those executive orders, I'm going to say he did them by autopen.
Just to prove it, here's Trump's Official Calendar. There is only the one signing listed. And they call it Executive Orders. That was the HJR's.
So, unless I'm making this up, there is someone operating Trump's autopen who signs the important documents and is the real president, and Trump only has enough energy to sign four in a row, and he's the figurehead he claims Biden was.
Prove me wrong, Trump.
