As we expected (?) Habeas Corpus up next on the scaffold

I first read about these developments  via Digby @ DigbysHullaballoo (digsbysblog.net) , Stephen Miller talking about “suspending habeas corpus” and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka apprehended by police as the behest of Homeland Security Investigations, and it appears Alina Habba (!) outside an ICE detention facility: It’s Happening – Digby's Hullabaloo

But the Guardian has both its US Politics liveblog up and separate stories about both these shocking escalations (linked from it):

Miller spoke to the press gaggle outside somewhere, to render it quasi official, about how per the constitution habeas corpus could be suspended during an invasion. And to be sure he got a blogger from the Gateway Pundit to lob him the first question about could they do that “to take care of the illegal immigration problem.”

There’s another diary up about Mayor Baraka’s apprehension but I have to point out that since  Baraka is running for NJ Governor in a primary next month, how is this not the “election interference” cited as commonly by Trump as we mention ketchup. Meanwhile it appears that the delegation got onto the grounds and spoke to employees but not inside?
