SPOILER WARNING: A late night gathering for non-serious palaver that does not speak of that night's show. Posting a spoiler will get your brolly whacked. You don't want that to happen to you.
I was scheduled to have surgery on two of my hernias on Monday, June 9th. Thursday, I went in for a pre-surgery EKG, it was abnormal, so they had me come back on Friday to test again. That too, was abnormal, talked to my heart doctor and he told me I should go to the hospital, “The sooner, the better.”
Now I will admit that I hadn’t felt well for a few days, but I didn’t think I needed a hospital. I went there right away, damned if they didn’t admit me! As of this writing on Sunday, I have been given 2 anti-blood clot shots, had a med adjustment and an ultrasound on my heart. Instead of the surgery, they want me to do a stress test on Monday, and they are keeping me at least that long. I just love running up hill pushing a wheelbarrow!! Anyone with treadmill experience knows what I’m talking about.
So, my heart problems continue, and I don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. At my age, I guess it don’t matter all that much and I guess I am pretty thankful for the life I’ve had.
Barring the unforeseen, I should be home by the time this diary publishes, if so, I will put an update into the comments. Be safe, my friends!
Monday update:
The surgery I was scheduled for today, isn’t going to happen because my heart isn’t working like it should. In fact, my heart is acting so bad that a doctor I have never seen, ordered a stress test for me today. Nope! That didn’t happen because the technicians looked at the EKG and said a stress test could be fatal. Looks like I’m going to be in the hospital a while longer.
Tuesday update:
They shocked my heart this afternoon, I slept through the whole thing, no problem. My heart is back in rhythm again and at 3pm and I can hardly wait for breakfast, when they tell the kitchen I can have food. It’s been 18 hours since I ate and I’ve had my first drink of water in 15 hours, I am hungry!! I still don’t know if I will be home tonight, but I will check in when this publishes. See you then!
