Donald Trump gave a 50 minute speech today at Fort Bragg that was supposed to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Army, which occurs on Saturday, the 14th, the same day as his birthday. The $45 million parade for the Army in Washington, D.C. he claiming for himself, also.
The speech did not go as planned, except in Trump's mind it did.
Speaking of WWII without mentioning it.
Trump: The only one that doesn't celebrate is the USA, and we're the ones that won the war. Without us, you would all be speaking German right now, maybe a little Japanese thrown in. But we won the war and we don't celebrate, but we're going to celebrate with a parade on Saturday.
The man has wanted a military parade since he saw that one in France on Bastille Day in 2017.
Trump: We just approved our largest budget for military operations, over $1 trillion, we've never even come close. But our army has smashed foreign empires, humbled kings, toppled tyrants, and haunted terrorist savages through the very gates of hell.
Bloodthirsty, isn't he? The military has a $1 trillion budget, and we're not even fighting a war. There's something definitely wrong here, especially since the military budget hasn't passed an audit, ever.
Trump: And for a little news for the fake news back there, the fake news, ladies and gentlemen --- look at them, look at them all, yai yai, what I have to put up with, fake news.
The audience booed at this point.
Trump: we are all still going to be restoring the names to Fort Pickett, Fort Hood, Fort Gordon, Fort Rucker, Fort Polk, Fort A.P. Hill and Fort Robert E. Lee. We won a lot of battles out of those forts.
I don't know what battles he's talking about, but what he's doing is renaming all the forts back to their Confederate names. He's bringing back the South and the Confederacy. The renaming of Fort Bragg back from Fort Liberty, didn't fool anyone. It was supposedly about a private paratrooper named Bragg, but it's obvious that it wasn't.
Trump: You think this crowd would have showed up for Biden? I don't think so.
Audience booed again. They're booing about a previous Commander in Chief. Are we looking at a MAGA white nationalist military?
Trump: And before I go any further, I want to say a few words about the situation in Los Angeles California. Have you heard of the place, where I've deployed thousands of National Guard troops and hundreds of Marines to protect federal law enforcement from the attacks of a vicious and violent mob and some of the radical left.
Trump: Generations of army heroes did not shed their blood on distant shores only to watch our country be destroyed by invasion and third world lawlessness here at home, like is happening in California.
Trump: What you are witnessing in California is a full-blown assault on peace, on public order and on national sovereignty carried out by rioters bearing foreign flags with the aim of continuing a foreign invasion of our country.
Trump: But regardless, open border policy, the dumbest policy yet. I would say even dumber than men playing in women's sports, transgender for everyone, even dumber than that.
Such a smooth transition from rioters to trans.
Trump: They're hurling bricks and cinder blocks at law enforcement. Did you see they're breaking up sidewalks and curbs, breaking it up with big strong hammers? These guys are a professionals. They're not amateurs. They're breaking it up because they took the bricks away from them. They came in with bricks, red bricks they could throw at our military and at the police in LA who are very good.
Wait a minute, if they took the bricks away from them, how are they hurling them?
Trump: But they came in with bricks. They were taken away and they had hammers. Oh, wow, how did that happen? And they're pounding the sidewalk. I said, what the hell is he doing? And he's breaking it up and making it into concrete bombs, in a way.
Try making sense of that. Concrete bombs.
Trump: These are animals, but they proudly carry the flags of foreign countries, but they don't carry the American flag. They only burn it. Did you see a lot of flags burned?
Apparently, that mistake was made. But calling people animals is not appropriate.
Trump: The best money can buy, somebody is financing it and we're going to find out through Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice, who it is. They're already on it, who's financing all this equipment, very professional. Under the Trump administration, this anarchy will not stand. We will not allow federal agents to be attacked and we will not allow an American city to be invaded and conquered by for an enemy and that's what they are.
What equipment? Let's just start those conspiracy theories to flow and fester until MAGA decides to attack people on the streets of Los Angeles. US citizens on the street of Los Angeles are the enemy. And then he goes on his Greatest Hits about the people being let in by Biden, and they were all from mental institutions, criminals, and the like. Oh, even drug lords. They're protecting immigration agents, and the police and the police chief told him they weren't needed. He knows this, but he does it anyway.
Trump: They're stopping an invasion, just like you'd stop an invasion. The big difference is most of the time when you stop an invasion, they're wearing a uniform.
Give them free government fatigues, and I'm sure they'd wear them. Then you couldn't tell who they were.
Trump: In Los Angeles, the Governor of California, the Mayor of Los Angeles, they're incompetent, and they paid troublemakers, agitators, and insurrectionists.
Paid agitators, like paid crowds for Kamala Harris. Somehow people supporting anything other than him and Republican idiots must be paid. Must be very expensive.
Trump: They came from all over the world. They came from the Congo in Africa. They came from Asia. They came from prisons of all these places. They were put into the United States and allowed to stay here because we had a grossly unfit president who listened to whoever was operating the auto-pen, and then they allowed these people to stay.
The man cannot operate without bad talking about someone else. He's still going after Biden's pardons and anything that he can't reverse.
He goes over how we're the hottest country in the world when 6 months ago we were the coldest country. He forgets it was winter. He talks about the trip to the Middle East and how he brought back trillions of dollars of investments. Vaporware. Again talks about the coldest country and now the hottest country. He's stuck in a loop.
Trump: the One, Big, Beautiful Bill, you've heard about it, we call it the one big --- you know, I was on Deface the Nation. Ladies and gentlemen, Deface the Nation. It's actually called Face the Nation for those of you that are smart enough not to know, because you're better off not knowing.
I don't know if he's ever used Deface the Nation before. He truly believes that people should be kept ignorant. That's the only way he can be smarter than them.
He talks a little bit more about Los Angeles and then without any transition he's talking about JD Vance and Tim Walz debating and saying that JD did a good job. Then suddenly he's into Minneapolis burning down without any explanation that he was thinking of the George Floyd protests. I have to sanewash him once in a while.
Later on, Trump gives his version of the War of 1812. It's not anywhere near coherent.
Trump: What's going on here? These guys are --- they all come from a very fine strain of blood. That's great genetics is right.
Trump's Nazi tendencies show up on a regular basis. Suddenly he's launching into Theodore Roosevelt and the Battle of San Juan Hill. Then it's World War I and Sergeant York. Eventually he gets to the Vietnam War and I think about Mr. Bone Spurs and his five deferments. He has no right to be talking to any military people about honor.
Trump: No soldier ever volunteered to the Army to be lectured about transgender diversity or inclusion. You don't want to hear that --- transgender for everybody. We don't do that.
He started using this "transgender for everybody" about a month ago. I have no idea what it means. I don't think anyone does. But it got stuck in his head that it means something, so he'll keep using it.
Trump: You could be great patriots, say I don't want to raise, I do not --- I will not accept it. Let it go back into our country, let's give it to Gavin Newscum so he can waste it in Los Angeles.
Just try to tell me what that means?
What I left out are all the topics that he covers so badly and boasts, like about by how much he won the 2024 election.
The man can not speak a coherent sentence. Two sentences in a row is out of the question. A whole paragraph could hit multiple topics just as mentions, like we're supposed to know what it's about.
This time, Trump had Los Angeles on the brain. The administration thinks they can get away with using 10 U.S.C. § 12406, that says the president can call up the National Guard in he cannot enforce the laws of the United States by normal means. They're saying it's immigration laws with ICE being thwarted. Except they're not. They've been carrying on raids every single day.
Gov. Newsom just gave one of the best speeches I've ever heard or seen. He called it Democracy at the Crossroads.
