A few years ago, I came across Reels on Facebook and I confess it caught my attention. Before I knew it a couple of hours had passed watching what some might call mindless videos. Everything from Old Tv Show clips, New TV Show clips, oddball things ranging from people jumping off high cliffs into water, amateur stunts gone wrong. You name it.
Many of the videos follow an algorithm that technically I don’t know how it works, but depending on the algorithm you will get a constant display of many videos all under the same topics.
Well, in 24 hours since the situation with Sen. Padilla, I have noticed a trend in the videos. I have seen more videos where law enforcement officers overstep their authority in simply demanding someone’s ID. Many refuse. The videos go on to quite honestly make law enforcement look very bad.
As we know from the manhandling of Sen. Padilla, the response from DHS has been called by many as flat out lying. Right now, the Florida Sheriff who is on tape saying we will kill protestors if you throw something at us, keeps popping up.
Many of the videos on Tik Tok or Reels cover all areas of law enforcement. Officers cover local police, sheriff’s deputies, state police and US Marshals. And folks, they all look bad, plain and simple. The other thing is, it is hard to tell what is the truth or just made up but ultimately it make law enforcement look like arrogant thugs.
Will it change public opinion?
I said a few months ago that when people start seeing ICE raid places like Home Depot, Farms, and meat packing plantspeople will begin to wonder how did so called “murderous, violent rapist criminals” start working in these places. When the videos show up show pregnant women being carted off and children crying get more frequent, I believe it will feed the outrage that are fueling the protests.
The Convicted felon is already caught trying to what say “oh our great farmers and the hotel industry have dedicated people who have been snatched up.”
Now, with the announcement of doing away with about a half a million legal migrants being told to leave, watch it get worse.
I doubt it will change MAGA but there are good police officers out there who are probably going OMG we are not like that but hey the Convicted Felon did this to you guys too.
