A big welcome to all of you who are new to this series, which I publish Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
This series is born out of frustration with seeing people on social media and this site say, “Where are the Dems?” or “What are the Dems doing?” This is not meant as an exhaustive list, but merely as a highlight of the types of the activities and statements they’re doing and making.
Please, before you complain about the party, take a few minutes of time to see if your concerns are being addressed. Also, if you’re only interested in complaining you may feel more comfortable commenting in the diaries that are designed for complaining.
Please support the following Daily Kos authors. Follow the Democratic Party Spotlight Group here to find these stories easily in your Stream (DK Inbox for diaries).

Democrats took a well deserved break of less than 24 hours after the passage of the budget bill. They’re back in their districts/states and celebrating the 4th of July Holiday. You can see that they’re also planning to spend time meeting constituents to help them with their needs in relation to the federal government.
As Rep. Jimmy Gomez shares with us it was an exhausting effort to try and derail the bill.
It was and still is painful for so many of us, but I’m sharing this post because I found it helpful. Take the time you need, and when you’re ready we’ll all work together to win in 2026.

I saw many of you yesterday saying Democracy is dead, why celebrate? Democracy is NOT dead. We must fight now to win in 2026. Trump and Republicans broke their promises to Americans. Most Americans HATE the BBB. Let’s work together to take back control. #Project2026 starts now #Voices4Victory

A heartbreaking tragedy. 27 souls—including nine kids—have been taken by the flooding.
My family and I are praying for the missing Camp Mystic girls, all those still unaccounted for, and the first responders who are braving the floods to bring them home.

BIG: Rep. Jeffries has broken the record for the longest speech on the House floor fighting this betrayal by Republicans.
Democrats in the Senate and House have now held the floor in each chamber showing just how much Republicans are betraying America.

Using taxpayer dollars to build a detention center in one of the most dangerous environments in the U.S.? No thanks.
“Alligator Alcatraz” is ALREADY flooding – it must go.
That’s why I’m demanding ICE and DHS stop construction.

Congrats to Half Moon Bay Brewing Company on their 25th anniversary! From a local dream to a community pillar, the Mendoncas and their team serve great food & brews, and created a gathering place that brings people together, while always giving back to the Coastside community.
