As some of you may know, I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather lately. I have a patch of cellulitis on my hip. The doc thinks it’s due to, or I got it along with, a tick-borne disease. In either case, the doxycycline seems to be working beautifully. I haven’t felt feverish since Saturday morning. Also, rather than feeling sore and inflamed, my hip itches like crazy now.
If this does prove to be tick-related I sure want to know what disease it is. There are several others than Lyme floating around my area. Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says there is also Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, Spotted Fever Group Rickettsiosis as well as the more recent Powassan virus. The doctor ruled the last one out since I don’t have the confusion that goes along with it. I corrected him and said I am often confused, but that’s due to my stroke rather than any virus.
Now that this antibiotic is working I might as well make an appointment to get my mast cell activation disorder treated. My doctor wouldn’t combine the two treatments. They cancel each other out. While MCAS is not as serious as cellulitis its hives are enough to drive me crazy. Oh, well. I’ll live.

Now on with the music.
So what’s on your mind this morning?
