These diaries are archival, for the transition to WordPress. Please only comment to add images that match the group, or with added information about one of the images.
Once we are in WordPress, there will be no site Image Library. But you will be able to tag-search this group of diaries, select the category you are looking for, and click, download, then upload the image you want into the diary or comment you are working on.
If you do not wish one of your personal images to be included, please contact the diarist.
The following images were selected from the DKos image library for the “Save the Images” project. I tried to find images of as many different species as possible, but there weren’t as many as I expected. I know I’ve seen many parrot images on DK over the years, so I suspect many members have uploaded parrot images without tagging them. (I’m equally guilty of this when I’m in a hurry.)
If you have additional parrot images in your personal DK library you’d like to save, please feel free to add them in the comments of this diary. It’s my understanding that comments will be migrated to the new DK server with the diaries.
For images where the species was identified by the original uploader, I’ve included that identification. For some others, I’ve made my best (somewhat educated) guess on identification. Please try to be understanding if the label is incorrect. There are hundreds of species and subspecies of parrots, and the differences in appearance can be subtle. Also, I made no effort to differentiate between parrots and parakeets, since “parakeet” is a non-scientific classification for smaller parrots.
