The Real Purpose of ICE

You'd be forgiven for thinking it's about illegal immigrants.

So, you take a bunch of misanthropes, mix in a bunch of reality-challenged true believers, give them all a modicum of training, a sense of agency, a promise of unaccountability and the arsenal of a marine battalion, and what do you get?

Escalation. Confrontation.

And when people fight back, what do you get?

Permission.

I don’t think people realize what the purpose of ICE really is.

It is not immigrant control. It is not crime prevention or enforcement.

It is not terror or intimidation.

The job of the ICE agents is to die.

Trump and his gang need a reason to invoke the Insurrection Act.

ICE has been formed to be that reason.

ICE will provoke and incite until one of their agents is killed.

They have military grade body armor. They will not be taken out by an accidentally thrown rock.

Someone will have to shoot and kill an agent.

Then Trump can invoke the Act.

Then he can suspend elections for an indefinite period.

Then, instead of elections, Trump can appoint “interim” representatives to Congress.

Colorado, New York, and California will receive brand new ‘patriotic’ men to represent them in Washington. Take that, Laura.

After that, who knows.
