Please stop using Grok.
Using generative AI at all is bad enough. The process uses huge amounts of water and electricity — produces huge amounts of greenhouse gases — in order to produce utterly unreliable and flat-out wrong answers such as this:
Asking LLM “AI” is a terrible strategy to learn anything, because AI doesn’t “know” anything; it approximates stuff people have said before and spits out (somewhat) convincing argle bargle.
Using Grok is far, far worse. Grok is an engine for producing child sexual abuse material and deepfake porn. It’s already been used to produce images of Renee Good in a bikini in the moment of her death.
And you think you need it? Why? If you don’t know the answer to something, can you really not read even part of an article written by a human being (a being with actual intelligence, even if they might be wrong) or a Wikipedia page? You know how to do this.
And if you really don’t know, if you really believe you need AI, then pick a different platform — everybody’s got an AI summary now, from Google to DuckDuckGo (alas). Don’t use the AI of the billionaire Nazi who gutted USAID.
And while you’re at it… maybe it’s time to leave X/Twitter, too?

I cannot find the Bsky post where I saw this, but someone there said of Elon Musk words to the effect of: “In the most generous interpretation, if you accidentally made a robot that makes CSAM [child sexual abuse material], and you find out you made a robot that makes CSAM and you don’t immediately turn it off, you deserve to go to the magnetic boot prison from the movie Face/Off."
