We all need to be aware that the current administration is going out of its way to compile data on everyone. This is especially true for those they deem to be Domestic Terrorists such as Democrats and people who belong to any known liberal organizations.
I’m writing this diary to point out the obvious: All of us here on DK are most likely already on any of a number of lists that are being or have been created by the Trump administration.

So what does this mean for us? All of us need to assume that we are being or at least can be tracked in at least near real-time. This is especially true for ALL of our communications. This wouldn’t be a worry if we still lived in a country whose government followed the rule-of-law. And we fall further away from this by the day.
The vast majority of communications apps and programs are owned by US tech companies that have shown themselves to NOT be the friends of their user-bases.
And even with using Signal which does have excellent security, the feds can still tell that you are using the app even if they can’t read your messages. And because Signal runs on (primarily) phones, the feds can physically track you via your cellphone.
There WILL come a time where Trump & Co. considers users of secure communications to be Subversives and Terrorists.
This same situation can occur if you connect a computer running TailsOS and the Tor network or the Tor Browser to the internet. Your communications can’t be read BUT the fact that you are running these IS/CAN BE known.
Also keep in mind that the Trump administration is integrating the Grok AI into federal systems. And we can totally trust Elon, right?
I AM trying to make you aware enough to pay attention to your communications and the way you use them. At the same time I want everyone to take extra mental steps in case they need to communicate with someone else with a greater level of anonymity.
