At its heart, the United States Declaration of Independence is a list of charges against King George III. This article compares those charges with the actions of the present tyrant and would be king starting with the second paragraph of the most important action ever taken by any Congress of the United States.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
The founding principle of the United States, the first act of the first Congress. In accordance to this doctrine, once power is wrested away from the fascist any and all means necessary to put them away are authorized under this doctrine. We cannot defeat a lawless foe while hobbled by law written for ordinary times. These are not ordinary times.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.
And here we see that yes, the founding fathers recognized this impulse to follow the law when the subject of a lawless tyrant, but they go on to declare...
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
Hear these word Democrats and all lovers of freedom. Stop with this nonsense of playing by the rules while the fascists under Donald Trump ignore the law and murder freely.
--Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
And so in our time has Donald Trump.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
And so in our time has Donald Trump.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
And so in our time has Donald Trump. He blocked immigration reform which would have given a path to citizenship for many, and now uses the lack of that reform as pretext to send his minions forth to pillage and murder the citizens of the nation.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
And this is the first charge against George that Trump is not guilty of because modern communication and transportation technology has made this tactic all but impossible.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
On orders from Donald Trump Mike Johnson has done this.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
Trump has repeatedly threatened to do this. We should have no doubt he intends to carry out this threat.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
And so in our time has Donald Trump, again by interfering with any attempts to reform immigration that he might use foreigners as Hitler used Jews - as an other against which to rally the rabble that backs him.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.
And so in our time has Donald Trump.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
And Donald Trump has tried, and succeeded in this with some, most notably Alien Cannon, who is almost certainly on Trump's payroll in secret. He has further blocked the prosecution of allied judges who now openly take bribes while sitting on the highest court - namely Alito and Thomas.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
And so in our time has Donald Trump, most blatantly with DOGE.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
Trump has not done this, but he has deployed them to foreign soil in Venezuela without the consent of knowledge of Congress.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
Trump has done the same through threats to execute anyone who dares tell military officers that they do not have to follow illegal orders and indeed must not follow them.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
Trump has sent American citizens into El Salvadoran prisons.
For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
Trump has not quartered his ICE gestapo among us, but he has sent them into our cities all the same to lay havoc and commit murder.
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
Trump has not even put up the pretense of a trial for the murderer Jonathan Ross, he has instead declared him innocent and ordered the persecution of his victim's family
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
And so in our time has Donald Trump
For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
And so in our time has Donald Trump. Tariffs are taxes, the only tax of colonial times. Trump has usurped the power of Congress to levy them.
For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
And so in our time has Donald Trump. The right to jury trial extends to all persons subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, yet Trump has deported without trial anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant even when they have been proven to be citizens and legally present.
For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:
Again Donald Trump does not even bother with trial. He has sent American citizens to foreign prisons to be held indefinitely, and when called on it he's claimed it was a mistake.
For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:
In similar vein to this Trump has contemplated using the Insurrection Act to close elections and cement his power and that of his fascist party forever.
For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
Trump has appointed corrupt justices into the Supreme Court who have reversed and struck down long held decisions of law to the profit of Trump and his billionaire backers, and struck down freedoms of the people in the name of establishing a Christian theocracy.
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
Again Trump has had his lacky in the House of Representatives repeatedly close down the chamber. He has used executive order more often than all prior presidents combined effectively attempting to govern without a legislature. And he has had his corrupt Supreme Court declare him above the law - that all official acts of a president are legal.
He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.
Trump has never abdicated, but on January 6th 2021 he sent his minions to wage war against us. Even now his ICE minions wage a quasi-war in Minneapolis that has resulted in death and many injuries.
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
And so has Trump in our time.
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.
And even now ICE, Trump's personal military, is performing barbarous acts of pillage and murder against our people.
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.
This, at least, Trump has not done. Impressment of sailors hasn't been a thing anywhere for 150 years.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
The Indian nations are no longer a force in our time, but Trump has excited the passions of the fascist, the racist and the bigot. He has aided, encouraged and abetted their militias and they have conducted acts of terrorism against the capitol itself and even now the fear of murder at their hand keeps a significant number of members of the Republican party from acting openly against Trump.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
And as you see Democrats, even the founding fathers tried strongly worded letters of outrage and disapproval up until the moment it was entirely clear they would have no effect. There is nothing that can be said to change the heart of Donald Trump - he is determined to be a Tyrant and must be dealt with accordingly.
Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Brittish brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.
And, in like measure, we have appealed to the Republicans who have walked in rank and file with Trump. They have also not heard our pleas. Therefore we must conclude that they too are corrupt and must deal with them accordingly.
We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
That was what our founding fathers did regarding their tyrant.
What shall we do with ours?
