For too long, politicians have talked about “law and order” while ignoring what justice actually requires: transparency, accountability, and humanity.
Ashley Bell isn’t staying silent.
“I’m proud to stand in solidarity with people from across our community as they raise their voice against ICE.”
She posted photos of herself at an anti-ICE rally in February, following the highly scrutinized killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by ICE agents. Across North Carolina’s 10th District, families are asking hard questions about how immigration enforcement is conducted, who is held accountable when things go wrong, and whether our federal systems are aligned with our values.
Ashley Bell believes community safety and civil rights are not competing priorities. They rise — or fall — together.
When tragedies occur and death certificates list “homicide,” the public deserves answers. Fellow democratic candidate shared the following sentiment on Facebook:
“Both death certificates for Renee Good and Alex Pretti state ‘homicide.’ That’s clear to me — and it should be clear to you. Especially when there is little or no accountability from those who preach about ‘law and order.’”
Accountability cannot be selective. If leaders invoke “law and order,” they must apply it evenly — including to federal agencies.
Ashley Bell supports:
-
Stronger federal oversight of immigration enforcement operations
-
Transparent investigations into deaths or serious harm linked to enforcement actions
-
Clear standards that prioritize de-escalation and human rights
-
Community-based public safety strategies that protect families without spreading fear
This is not about slogans. It’s about standards.
Still, Ashley Bell is unafraid to name what many in the community are already saying:
“We say ‘Abolish ICE’ with our whole chests.”
For Ashley Bell, that phrase reflects a deeper demand: dismantling systems that lack accountability and rebuilding immigration enforcement around transparency, due process, and constitutional protections.
Communities across NC-10 deserve policies that keep families safe without undermining civil liberties. They deserve leadership that does not look away when questions go unanswered.
Ashley Bell is running for Congress because silence is not leadership — and accountability is not optional.
The people of North Carolina’s 10th District deserve a representative who will fight for both safety and justice — without compromise.
