I am entering this in the small quilt challenge at our quilt show in May. The rules were a max of 24 in square and the prompt was “Celebrate”. Our quilt show is called ”Celebrate Quilts” this year.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

When I heard the prompt, Three Dog Night came into my brain, singing this song. I took it as an omen. I had the dancing frog fabric from a long time ago and it was perfect for this. I did the text on aida cloth in stitches. I had an idea to buy one of those buttons they use to teach dogs to tap and talk. They have a 30 second record feature and I could record just that bit of the song. When some one saw my quilt, I could push the button and it would sing! But I haven’t gone that far yet.

The meeting went well today. I made the peach cheesecakes in muffin cups with crushed Nilla Wafers as the crust. They were yummy.

Easy Peach Cheesecake

1 (8) oz cream cheese,m softened

¼ c powdered sugar

1 (12) oz jar of peach preserves

1 tsp vanilla

½ (8) oz container Cool Whip

1 (8) in graham cracker crust

Beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in sugar til fully incorporated.

Add preserves and vanilla, beat til combined

Fold in Cool Whip til smooth

Put in pie shell, refrigerate for at least 1 hr

I presented our offering for the Block of the Month 2026 and 19 people signed up to make quilts. That is a good percentage of our members and I hope they all complete the project.

This is a little different as the blocks are the border. It will be interesting to see how they come out. The complete package is free online from Riley Blake and there are YouTube videos showing how to make each block too. There is more info that we usually have and all of it is available digitally for those inclined. I will have to print block patterns for some of our members though who don’t use a computer.

I guess I whined enough about not getting any bday cake last year because my sister brought me a complete small one with ton o icing and Lil Zen brought me a full sized Boston Lemon Cake, which I never heard of. I have had a piece of it but not the other one yet. It is yummy and lemon is my fave. Lucky me! Bday cake for days.

There was no rain here today but it has been very windy and cold. That is all the news that fits. Have a good day all.
