Wes Moore and his dumb sphere

Just watching Wes Moore on Jen Psaki. Super guy and he says all the right things. He will make a good presidential candidate.

but what is it with him and the sphere? Apparently that’s his big plan to revitalize Baltimore. Maryland government will support the project with $200 million.

this would be a smaller version of the sphere in Las Vegas. The sphere is a privately built entertainment facility. It’s lost around $1 billion in Vegas and continues to lose money. It cost a huge amount to build and consumes a ton of energy. People think it’s cool, maybe they go once, it’s pretty pricey for a ticket.

ok so explain why the government should support giving money to private company so they can lose a lot of money. The government estimates that it will bring in $1.3 billion a year which I am not an expert but I can tell you that’s a joke. I mean I guess people are used to building stupid football stadiums, so why not build a stupid sphere?
