Sunday Bowl
For many years we have been invited to a Super Bowl party in Calistoga. This began from a family connection and the family that originally invited us has become dear friends. Sunday conflicts with my weekly (Sunday) Kitchen Table diary, so I had to improvise. At first, having had less than stellar experiences with the DKos scheduler, and since our hosts had no internet, I drove around with my laptop and parked in front of the first house I could find where I could tap into Comcast. Eventually our hosts got internet and I could diary there. Later on I gained trust in the scheduler and have used that option for years.
The woman of the host couple has (ALS), known as Lou Gehrig's disease. This has been worsening, so I was surprised to receive an invitation to the annual party. He assured us that this will be the very last one. It’s really brave and stoic of him. So this will be the last of my Super Bowl KTKs. One thing for sure, the refreshments are always excellent.
So next year I will write about inflation or deflation or whatever is happening (shudder) and continue my previous total lack of interest in football. And continue to have hope for Carol, in her continued struggle with ALS. And this year I will hear Bad Bunny for the first time and experience what that’s all about. If all goes well I’ll be back home in time to join y'all.
