The only major thing that disappointed me about the Obama presidency was the Administration’s emphasis on “looking ahead” instead of holding the people accountable who had gotten the United States into the desperate situation in which we found ourselves in late 2008-early 2009. The U.S. was in the throes of a major economic meltdown. People were losing homes right and left. The national debt between 2001 and 2009 had DOUBLED. We were mired in not one but TWO wars, both of which were taking an awful toll on us. Corruption and malfeasance had been rampant (although nothing approaching the staggering corruption of the Trump Kleptocracy). And what was done to hold those who had caused this situation accountable?
Virtually nothing.
The big banks were not broken up. Those who had created and manipulated the subprime mortgage disaster were not arrested. The negligence, lies, and shocking incompetence that had led us to a dead end in Afghanistan and Iraq were not fully exposed. The ordinary person took the hit on all this. The people at the top got off virtually scot-free.
So I say this. If and when we win back power in 2026 and 2028 (as I fervently hope we do):
WE WILL NOT JUST “LOOK FORWARD”. WE ARE GOING TO HOLD ALL CRIMINALS AND TRAITORS ACCOUNTABLE.
WE WILL BE LOOKING BACK AT EVERYTHING. EVERY. G-D. DAMNED. THING.
I don’t know about you, but I have been (unwisely) immersing myself in the Epstein horror show. There are things I’ve looked at that make me want to scream, literally. I feel myself close to tears at other times. OTHER THAN EPSTEIN HIMSELF, NOT ONE OF THE FUCKING MEN INVOLVED IN THIS MONSTROSITY HAS GONE TO JAIL.
The more that comes out, the more horrifying the picture gets. For legal reasons, I am compelled to say that these things are ALLEGATIONS. And to be sure, some very over-the-top ideas are circulating. (Epstein as a Satanist? Epstein engaging in cannibalism? Somehow I think not.) But the credible accusations alone are utterly shocking:

I DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE PARTY AFFILIATION OF ANY OF THESE FUCKING CRIMINALS. THROW THE FUCKING BOOK.
If Bill Clinton committed crimes, FUCK HIM. If any Democrat was raping children, LET THEM BURN IN HELL. But by G-d, Donald Motherfucking Trump must NOT be allowed to get away with this. We’re in this situation in part because Trump has never paid a real price for his crimes, his lies, his cruelty, his perversions, and his utter moral corruption.
THIS TIME HE MUST GO DOWN.
There must be none of this “Focus only on the future” bullshit.

I will actively work against any Democratic candidate who wants to “let bygones be bygones”.
This time, there MUST be justice.
