FAKE NEWS ALERT. I AM SO SORRY. — The Inventer
ROMNEY DIDN’T SAY THIS.
Yesterday I posted a story here at Daily Kos quoting Senator Mitt Romney. The Romney quote was a hoax.
“So: the screenshot/text from that @wokemitt link is fake as a Romney quote; it’s a joke written in character by a parody account.” — Perplexity.
Except it wasn’t funny at all. If you were going to parody Romney, you would have to say something that was in line with what Romney actually thinks, but say it in a way that makes him look foolish.
A non-judgmental shrug when it comes to Iran killing US soldiers on the basis of targeting support from the Putin regime is not what Romney actually thinks; therefore the “WokeMitt” quote is not a parody, but rather a hoax.
I am not a Romney fan, but, as it turns out, he supports Ukraine. He has not echoed Trump‘s foolish support of Putin’s targeting help to Iran. It was wrong of me to call Senator Romney stupid on the basis of something he does not think or say. I apologize to him and to the Daily Kos community as well. — The Inventer
