Trump says he may order more attacks on Iran “just for fun”

In a half-hour telephone interview with NBC News today, President Trump said that today’s US attacks on Kharg Island “totally demolished” most of the island but that “we may hit it a few more times just for fun.”

And there you have it. People are getting killed. US soldiers and airmen are getting killed. Iranian schoolgirls are being killed by the dozen. The US military is spending billions of dollars. Gas prices are going up. But Trump is having fun!

While he was at it, Trump said the following about Iran:

… the only power they have, and it’s a power that can be closed off relatively quickly, is the power of dropping a mine or shooting a relatively short-range missile. But when we get finished with the shoreline, they’re not going to have that power either….

We’ve knocked out most of their missiles. We’ve knocked out most of their drones. We knocked out their manufacturing of missiles and drones, largely. Within two days, it’ll be totally decimated.

This is mostly nonsense and lies. Iran’s forces will not be “totally decimated” in two days, and Iran will still be able to threaten shipping and so forth.

But what will it matter? Trump will be having fun!
