American allies are unwilling to risk a $2.5 billion destroyer and a crew of 300 to protect a $70 million oil tanker with a crew of 25. 

Obviously, math is not one of the strengths of Pete Hegseth’s Pentagon. 

Iranian commanders probbly know this very well. 

Add to this dilemna the fact that expensive ships would have very little room to maneuver in the Straits of Hormuz. 

Did the Iranians bate Trump into a trap, or did Trump’s hubris lead him astray? Or did both circumstances present themselves at the same time?

Though Trump’s shocking incompetence stands out, it probably calls for a thorough review of the entire Navy. 

Ukraine is doing wonders getting more bang for the buck. The U.S. needs to continually do this analysis. 

Thank God no Trump Battleships have been built so far. 

Trump is still doig yeoman’s work protecting us from solar energy. When the sun is beating down on the Middle East, it would be against everything Trump knows to not bring inefficient and risky oil tankers half way around the world.
