Re: Presidential Medal of Freedom
Dear GOP Donor:
You are cordially invited to a ceremony to be held on New Year's Day as President Bush bestows the Presidential Medal of Freedom on the two men who led the succesful drive to save the people of the city of New Orleans.
And now a message from our President:
"You might remember, last time we had one of these ceremonies I gave the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award to Tommy Franks, the now-retired Army general who led the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, former CIA director George Tenet, who told me it was a "slam dunk" that Iraq still had weapons of mass destruction, and L. Paul Bremer, who presided over the first 14 months of Iraq reconstruction."
"What better way to honor Homeland Security Chief Michael Chertoff and FEMA Director Michael D. Brown for their courageous work in the hours and days after that disruption down there in New Orleans."
"I hope you will join me and Laura as we honor these two brave men. Honoring them will serve to be a reminder of the 10,000 people who lost their lives in the days and weeks after the Hurricane hit."
President George W. Bush
P.S. If you can't attend, might you consider a donation to the GOP so we can continue our hard work?
