The timing of Alito's nomination for the Supreme Court could not be worse. This man is authoritarian down to his fingertips. He has reflexively ruled in favor of the powerful, the male, and the privileged so regularly that it is a foregone conclusion that he would justify any actions of a rogue president like Bush.

If Alito is seated on the Supreme Court, the likelihood of America becoming a high-tech plutocratic dictatorship is greatly increased. Alito, Scalia, Thomas, and probably Roberts will vote as a bloc against any challenge to the steady accretion of authoritarian power in the US.
