I just saw
this post by Representative John Conyers on his blog regarding a Congressional response to Bill Bennett's disgusting comments on Wednesday. Here is an excerpt:

Is your representative on that list? If not, you should ask why he or she doesn't have the time to sign a letter speaking out against racism.
Do Republicans really just not care about comments like those of Bill Bennett? Is there a reason why they have a problem with bad words and sexuality in fictional TV shows but are OK with real-life derogatory comments aimed at a racial group? How hard would it be for one of them to just sign the letter and demand an explanation and an apology for the vile remarks?
If this doesn't scream racism in relation to the GOP, I don't know what does.
