Apparently, the Georgia Governor is closing in Georgia. I don't know what the rationale is, but its real. I've got a call from someone who says that all the stations are already closed in Athens.
Gas stations in midtown Atlanta are only selling $10 worth of gasoline, and there are lines.
There are lines down the block at the gas stations near the perimeter of Atlanta.
Please post updates or information.
*[Updated 5:50 EST]* What I know for sure is that two of the pipelines that bring gasoline to GA are shut down. There are also lines out the driveways of every gas station in town. In Clayton county, some stations have raised gas prices over $4.00/gallon. Also, I personally drove by one gas station, a Quick Trip, that was completely out of gas.
*[Updated 6:15 EST]* Ok, I changed the title to gas shortages and scattered panic in Georgia. I think that's accurate. There is a shortage of gasoline, there is rationing going on, and there is panic buying occuring across the state.
