Boldness. Courage. Strength. Integrity.
Nice words but not actualized in the political realm. These virtues in my mind, are punished, not rewarded.
Dean's failure to garner votes seems evidence of this. Clark's dropping out too (which prompted this diary).
How can I blame the voters? How dare I ignore the Dean's 'unfavorables', etc.
How dare I? Remember how many voted for Bush? How many thought the war was peachy? How many are disgusted at the thought of gay marriage? Sure I want to help the enviroment, but I need this humongous SUV to drive three miles - I can't live without it!
Let me drink my beer while I tell you how horrible illegal drugs are. Etc.
John Kerry is the same old shit politician. Like Clinton, just not as likeable. Why vote for him? Fear. Bush is so horrible, we have to beat him. Lesser of two evils. I shudder to think what will happen if Bush....
Go ahead and vote your fears and not your hopes. You'll just get more fear. And no hope.
(For those of you who think I am an elitist and stupid to 'look down on' people: everyone has a choice about remaining conscious and engaged in their lives and the world. It's our responibility. Those who don't are lazy and selfish.)
