OK, maybe I am wasting valuable diary space on this, but this really struck me as blatant when I came across this last night. I just wanted to see if anybody else caught it and reacted to it the same way I did. That's the teaser, so you have to click the 'There's more' link to get the whole thing. I'll provide a tip jar so that you can flame me if you must...
Last night, my wife was watching "Everybody Loves Raymond", which is supposedly a favorite among the `Republican Faithful.' I will put aside that the episode dealt with one of the main character's `sexual problem' and talk about another bit of hypocrisy.
CBS owns cable network's Showtime. In order to compete with HBO's program about gays (male gays), Showtime has a show called `The `L' Word'. Last night a commercial aired which was very provocative showing women touching each other and hugging each other in a suggestive manner. I definitely felt like the characters had something going on that was more than `friendship'. I was wondering what the hell was the product was that they were selling. It turns out it was this show. So you see, they have no problem using `gay' in the context of lesbian sex to sell their show. Yet they rejected an ad for a church that showed a gay male couple with no sensuality. That is hypocrisy.
