Face it. Whether you think it's fair, or whether you even care, if you're reading this, the consensus opinion is that you're experiencing a lame-ass New Year's Eve. You're supposed to be out revelling in...the cold, or whatever people revel in on New Year's Eve. You're not supposed to be on Daily Kos.
But your fellow Kosmopolitans care about you, and if they're here, they're also experiencing what's considered a lame-ass New Year's Eve, so why not share your New Year's Eve experiences with everyone?
Me, I'm stuck on the far fringes of the Motor City metro area without a motor: in other words, I don't have a car for the holidays, and without a car I'm marooned at my parents' until I return to DC tomorrow. [God, I really miss the Metro.] So I'm hangin' here with the 'rents, experiencing a really sedate (outofmymindboring) New Year's Eve. But the Red Wings on on television, they're tied 2-2 with the Blue Jackets, and if things go well I may get to hear Mickey Redmond call out "the old Bingo-bango."
But what about you? Why aren't you out conforming to social and cultural pressures? And what are you doing for New Year's Eve?
