Today we are sending out Paul's first press release. Please feel free to disseminate this far and wide :)
"In the last five years, the politicians in Washington seem to have forgotten about the real people out here in America. Real people working real jobs to support their families. Real people whose voices and concerns aren't heard in Washington," said Blackwell. "Gas prices are soaring again. Wages are stagnant. People are hurting. Republicans haven't stepped up to do anything about it."
Criticism and advice are always welcome. Donations are more than welcome. We only have until the 28th to raise the qualifying fee.
Update [2006-4-19 17:29:29 by propagandism]: It appears DemocraticLuntz (and others) are correct and that after the redistricting, the correct district is 9. Updating tags and titles. Taking foot out of mouth.

BLACKWELL TO RUN FOR CONGRESS
Chickamauga, GA - Paul Blackwell announced on Monday his candidacy for Georgia Ninth Congressional District seat currently held by Republican Nathan Deal.
The twenty-six year old Chickamauga resident is a Wal-Mart automotive service technician and graduate of Ridgeland High School in Rossville. This will be his first foray into the political arena.
"Republicans control the White House and Congress. They have the opportunity and the responsibility to help the American people. But they're so busy preaching to people about values, that they're ignoring practicing any real values themselves. Like helping your neighbors and those less fortunate than you. They're ignoring the people they work for. Republicans are completely out of touch with what the American people need."
When asked what qualifications he has to run for public office, Blackwell says, "I'm an American. I'm just a regular guy. A real person."
