MEDIA PLAY : 'Bush calls for halt to anti-Kerry ads'

As we've seen in this campaign season, it doesn't matter that Bush actually tried to say halt ALL 527 ads. The headlines already are saying: "Bush calls for halt to anti-Kerry ads." This sinks the SVBT effort -- Bush himself undercuts their credibility by saying the ads should not run.

Kerry can easily respond to Bush's demand that he join in condemning all 527 ads. Kerry can say: "I agree that all untruthful smears and illegal ads featuring people who are breaking the law by also taking part in a candidate's campaign should immediately go off the air."
