Chertoff's Press Briefing - MORE SPIN!!!

He just keeps repeating the new story about how this was "Two Catastrophes" and THAT couldn't have been foreseen.   Noone's doing anything wrong.  Nothing is inadequate. "Nature was unhelpful " - direct quote. But the worst argument is this: we couldn't plan for every contingency - a nuclear bomb could've gone off on the top of the hurricane - "stuff happens". But didn't they promise us that if we suck it up with bs pork and patriot act, etc., that we'd be ready for any contingency? So DHS isn't REALLY ready for the contigency when nuclear bomb does go off? Isn't that the whole argument for all the bs we've been putting up with last four years? That the govt would at least be able to take care of us? He may as well send a telegram to Bin Laden - " Hey, Osama, our pants are down, we can't handle any more emergencies, come and get us before Labor Day"  Complete waste of time this press conference is!

And now Sanjay Gupta on CNN is peddling the plight of a PUPPY who was left behind. A stray dog is getting more attention than people still stuck in the city.
