Are Dems Stupid: The Immigration Issue

Are Dems Clueless or Stupid?

What do the Dems most desperately need?

1.  A national issue related to both JOBS and NATIONAL SECURITY.
2.  Something that turns Bush and Co. AGAINST their core white male southern constituency.
3.  Something that demonstrates that Bush and Co. don't care if AMERICANS have jobs.
4.  Something to demonstrate that Bush and Co. are CARELESS with national security matters.

And here we have been handed, on a silver platter, Bush's immigration proposal.

1.  It can be said to take American jobs away and give them to illegal aliens, because companies won't pay AMERICANS enough to work those jobs.
and
All those undocumented workers poise a major security risk.

2.  Wasn't it Jesse Helmes who ran that ad about people taking your jobs due to affirmative action.  Isn't this the same thing to that constituency?
3.  So we'll open the borders for illegals to take jobs at a low wage that you would normally have been paid a higher wage to do?
4.  We can't track arabs with expired work visas?  We're going to tax immigration even more with millions more people to keep track of?

This is THE issue if we play our cards right.  And we don't have to sound like Pat Buchannan- we can finesse this with Hispanics who VOTE(who mostly don't like the unfair competition any more than anyone else) and make this a BIG DEAL in the south-- the Carolinas, for instance, where many jobs have gone overseas.

This is what we've been waiting for.
