In chatting with folks on KOS, I tend to find myself in arguments almost as often as agreement. Don't get me wrong, everyone is friendly, and I know that even among generally like thinkers debate is healthy, but it has me thinking: Is there room in the party for someone with this profile?
I'm:
pro-choice;
pro separation of church and state;
pro property rights;
pro gun rights;
pro environmental regulation;
pro public education;
pro multilateral foreign policy;
anti-Iraq war
pro safety net;
anti-50% plus tax brackets
pro public health care option;
anti nationalized / socialized healthcare
pro business
pro free trade
pro religion on a personal level;
anti-Religious Right with a passion
pro ninth amendment (the courts should defend privacy and other UNenumerated rights);
It's funny...I've been a life-long Democrat, but a lot of people in the blogosphere consider me more of an independent or even -- these are the people I will hunt down and kill :) -- a lite Republican...So you guys tell me -- is KOS pushing for a big or small tent?
