The Massachusetts Constitutional Convention has adjourned for the evening without passing any of the proposed anti-gay-marriage constitutional amendments.
The proposed bi-partisan compromise amendment that would define marriage as heterosexual, establish civil unions, and retroactively convert same-sex marriages to civil unions was voted down 104-94.
Whether or when the ConCon will resume is not yet apparent though should be reported soon. The original proposed amendment, which would define marriage as heterosexual but remain silent as to civil unions, appears not to have yet received a vote.
See my previous diary for what happened to Finneran's proposed amendment.
