Crossover Day

Hey, here's a thought for you...

Thinking about the huge number of Republican senators/representatives who've been jerked around by the hard-right wing of their party lately, maybe we should try to organize a mass "crossover day" for those moderate Republicans who might (in better days) be a good fit for our party. McCain comes to mind as an immediate example, but lots of 'em actually respect their constituents, and have to feel bad about shoving endless BS down their throats.

So, why not organize a letter-writing drive, asking them to "leave the dark side"? We could ask for them to do it at a certain time, too, for maximum impact -- say, mid-May to mid-June, or right before going on Summer recess.

It's probably not a very effective idea, but hey -- it would make for great theatre!
