if one goes to the Iraqi Casualty List link one will not the following
- for the month of April 04, we have had 38 US deaths so far, at the rate of 5.71 /day
- the only month at which the rate was higher was March of 2003, when the actual war had begun -- in the 11 days of that March during actual combat operations, we were losing an average of over 7 /day

Totally off topic - I just had what I think was an F-16 go overhead. I live in Arlington VA, but not on the normal flight path from the N for National Airport, which comes down over the Potomac. Thus any plane overhead gets our attention, and the sound of a military set is very different than that of an airliner. I was not aware that we had combat air patrols active again -- anyone else notice it?
