Pew Poll: Bush Gets No SOTU Bounce

Pew has released the first Bush approval poll since the State of the Union, and it turns out that the speech pretty much didn't happen.

"Do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?"  If "Depends":  "Overall, do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?" (MOE ±3)

2/1-5/06: Approve 40/Disapprove 52
1/4-8/06: Approve 38/Disapprove 54

So the President's single most important yearly infomercial, the event which defines his entire agenda, produced absolutely no movement outside the margin of error.

I'm sure Chris Matthews will call it a "comeback."
