Screw you.
You squareheaded, Herman-Munster-looking, bigot-pandering loser.
U.S. Sen. John Kerry, visiting Louisiana for a forum on children's health care, criticized the Massachusetts Democratic Party for its expected approval of a statement in the party platform in support of same-sex mar riage.
"I think it's a mistake," Kerry said. "I think it's the wrong thing, and I'm not sure it reflects the broad view of the Democratic Party in our state."
Kerry made the comments to The Boston Globe after hosting the event on his proposed KidsFirst Act, which would bring health care to uninsured children.
Kerry's opposition to gay marriage puts him at odds with the chairman of the Massachusetts Democrats, Philip W. Johnston, who said that the senator's stance will not change the expected approval of the language at next weekend's party meeting in Lowell.
"I have great affection and respect for John, but I disagree on this issue," Johnston said. "It is important that the state Democratic Party support civil rights. We need to take a stand."
I know you're down south right now, where people who voted for you are getting excommunicated from their churches, so giving bigots their due might seem like a wise thing to do. But you just lost me, John. Permanently. I bet you'll lose a few more of us. Maybe even more than any southern votes you think you might get for what seems to be a 2008 run in the works.
Seriously, John, I'm done. Don't believe me?
This is the fundraising request you just sent me.

This is me shredding it.

That felt good. And that's what I'll do with any further requests, at least until I get myself off your mailing list.
And you know what the sad part is, John? You don't realize how many of those wingnuts are going to see right through you and your pandering to them, and leave you twisting in the wind come 2008. Much as you're apparently trying to do to your gay & lesbian supporters.
