I went and read Mr. Brown's CV on the FEMA site, and started wondering, because I couldn't remember having read a passage that sounds like a belated attempt at lending him credentials as Actionman on disasters and emergencies.
Cross-checking with a previous cache seems to corroborate my suspicion that his CV has been prettied up. And it would be interesting to find out when the changes were made, as the new text seems to be tailor-made to counter criticism against him and FEMA. Most convenient!

Extract:
Under Secretary Brown has led Homeland Security's response to more than 164 presidentially declared disasters and emergencies, including the 2003 Columbia Shuttle disaster and the California wildfires in 2003. In 2004, Mr. Brown led FEMA's thousands of dedicated disaster workers during the most active hurricane season in over 100 years, as FEMA delivered aid more quickly and more efficiently than ever before.

Why the sudden need to speak of "has led HS response to more than 164 presidentially declared disasters and emergencies ..."
Yes, the October CV wouldn't be updated to deal with the 2004 hurricane season, but don't you find it curious, as I did, that it comes now, when FEMA is charged with not responding to the disaster along the Gulf coast?
This administration can spin faster than a tornado!
