Three cheers for write-in ballots, I guess.
It may only be a city of around 8,000 people, but a high school senior defeated the incumbent mayor in Hillsdale, Michigan. By a write-in ballot, no less. Sure, it's not earth shattering considering the city's main "recreational draw" is its community library, but it's a fun little news fact, nonetheless.
And here's a write up of Mayor-elect Michael Sessions if anyone's interested. He will hopefully be able to go to college while being mayor. Rock on?
PS: This is my first diary, so thanks for reading. I find that local politics can be more colorful than national or statewide ones. If I get three comments, I'll be jazzed.
